A realization:
I am so out of shape. I tried Yoga for the first time Friday night, it was a class that took us through the basics, and lasted for an hour and a half, and hour and fifteen minutes of yoga, and 15 minutes of meditation.
I FEEL LIKE I AM DYING. I can honestly say my muscles have never been this sore, I can’t move my shoulders, or lift my arms or legs. My abs hurt, my lower back and thighs are on fire, and my head feels like a cement block resting on my neck.
BUT, I was able to do most of the moves, all but the one where you lay on your back and arch like a bridge, and none of my pain is in my joints. It’s only my muscles, and the balls of my hands because we spent a lot of time in ‘Downward Dog’ and having 235lbs pressing on your hands doesn’t feel too awesome.
So, despite being the largest person there, and needing to use blocks to support my hands, I feel like I succeed. I got an intense workout, my muscles are healing and growing, and I had such a fantastic time meeting people and unwinding.
So, I think I am going to try to go to this class twice a week, and work out my legs and abs at the gym twice a week as well.
But for now, I am going to soak in ice, and overdose on Tylenol ;D

You will start to feel better the more you stretch your muscles with yoga. Then your every-day activities will be more efficient and easy. :) Yay, yoga!
